What we do

BackupMyDNS automatically backs up DNS records across every provider you use. When a record changes, we capture a full zone snapshot and store the diff. When something breaks, you have a complete history to restore from.

We launched in 2022 and have been profitable since day one.

Why we built this

The founder managed DNS for dozens of domains across multiple providers. One day, a routine migration silently dropped a set of TXT records. Email authentication broke. Nobody noticed for two days.

The fix was straightforward once the old records were found — but they weren’t backed up anywhere. The rebuild took hours of guesswork and Slack archaeology.

BackupMyDNS exists so that never happens to anyone else.

How we operate

We’re self-funded and profitable. No investors, no board, no pressure to grow at all costs. We charge fair prices for a tool that works, and we plan to run this business for a long time.

We don’t chase enterprise deals or build features to hit funding milestones. We build what DNS administrators actually need.

Security

Your DNS data is AES-256 encrypted at rest. We use read-only API access — we never write to your zones. Zero-storage mode is available: we email you the backup and delete it from our systems immediately.
